CHONGQING BAY MASTERPLAN

CHONGQING, CHINA

Landscape, architecture, and people are one.

Awarded first place in the prestigious Chongqing Datian Bay Area International Architectural Landscape Design Competition, outperforming top architectural firms from around the world.

The project site is in the Yuwan district of Chongqing city in China. It is within the boundaries of Jian Kang road (south), Zhongshan road (east), and Tiwu road (north).

The design components are (1) architectural and landscape masterplan design guidelines, (2) the pedestrian bridge, (3) the cultural main axis (from Cultural Palace to Helong Statue and Datianwan Stadium) landscape, and (4) the skydiving tower park landscape.

The landscape structure is one loop, two axes, three cores, and four districts. One loop: sports track around Datianwan Stadium. Two axes: main axis (urban cultural active axis) and secondary axis (historical landscape axis). Three cores: cultural core (Helong square), landmark core (skydiving tower park), and two-axis interchange core (music fountain). Four districts: pedestrian bridge, central avenue, children’s play area, public square.

This project was completed at Enspace in San Francisco, where I served as Principal Architect, leading the project from concept to design documentation. It was a collaborative effort with Moment X in San Francisco for a design competition.
